Joseph Masanga
Joseph Masanga was born on March 17th
1983 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He has lived in Hungary since 1992. He
started writing at the age of 16, first it was
just rhymes for fun. But then he started
writing more and more seriously on
different subjects. Still, he keeps the
childlike attitude he had since he started
writing poetry. He believes that "poetry is a
gift from God, it should be natural and
enjoyable and definitely not forced."
The quest
Somewhere, maybe in an isolated island,
Looking, searching in order to find it,
Is there something special I should do to reach it?
I see birds flying in the sky; they seem to be stress free,
I see crocodiles in the rivers, they are fearless.
Is there a lesson to learn from this?
Turning in the other direction,
I see children playing, having fun,
They are smiling, jumping of joy,
I realize they all have something in common:
They are not worried; they are in peace with nature;
Then suddenly, I hear a voice,
Not from outside but from within,
It sounds like an angel speaking,
The voice says: “the quest for happiness is inside,
Look within and you’ll find it”.
Dream
Dwelling upon the hands of mystery,
On the edge of imagination and reality,
Ready to grasp infinity without any boundary,
Dream till you collapse, dream till your heart stops,
Life indeed is just a beam,
From dust till we return dust;
So Dreaming is simply expressing freedom,
No limitations, no fear, no doubt,
While we live on earth our duty is to dream,
Dreams create passion, passion creates desire,
Desire creates power and power creates vision.
Dream till you collapse, dream till your heart stops.
The power to influence
Means of exchange,
Only there to serve you,
Neither good nor bad,
Exactly has the character of its owner,
Yet there’s something about it I don’t like.
